The all-new Mazda2 led Mazda’s record October
sales charge to 7271 new vehicles – the biggest month
ever for Mazda in Australia, and the tenth record month
in a row.
This result eclipses Mazda’s previous best of
7140 set in March earlier this year.
Australians bought 1193 Mazda2s in October,
setting an all-time record and securing an unprecedented
11.0 per cent share of this hotly-contested market
segment (light cars < $25k).
This result bolsters Mazda’s position as
Australia’s fourth-biggest brand, with a 21 per cent lead
over its fifth-placed rival.
October’s record-breaking effort continues
Mazda’s incredible 2007 sales momentum – all ten months
have set new monthly records.
In fact Mazda’s 2007 YTD total of 64,929
surpasses the company’s impressive 2006 full-year sales
result of 63,664 with two months to spare, and looks set
to break the current all-time record of 66,520 set in
2005.
Managing director of Mazda Australia, Doug
Dickson, said:
"It’s great to see the Mazda2’s mix of style,
value and performance hit the sweet spot with
Australians."
"This fantastic October result is proof that
Mazda’s broad vehicle range has strong appeal with
Australian consumers."
