April Record for Mazda
02-MAY-2007
Australia’s top-selling import brand, Mazda, has
continued its record sales pace setting an April sales
benchmark of 5703 retails.
The April result is a significant 705 sales or
14.1 per cent up on the same month last year, while
year-to-date, Mazda has sold 25,835 vehicles, an increase
of 4266 or 19.8 per cent.
Mirroring record sales in the first three months
of the year, demand for Mazda’s Stylish, Insightful and
Spirited vehicles was across all models with the Mazda2
(544 sales) and the BT-50 commercial range (746 sales
establishing April records.
Mazda’s top-selling car, the Mazda3 performed
strongly with 2438 sales, while the Mazda6 surpassed 1000
sales for the fourth month in a row (1010
sales).
Mazda’s SUV sales reached an April record with
the CX-7 (567 sales) and the Tribute (221 sales) totaling
788 retails.
Managing director of Mazda Australia, Doug
Dickson, said: “This result is impressive given that
April was a short selling month with Easter, ANZAC day
and school holidays. It proves that the Mazda brand has
significant momentum in the market and with a number of
new model launches planned for the second half of the
year we plan to keep it that way.”
